The first meeting between the puppy Leo and the cat Simba: a cohabitation not so simple

At PapattesBox , our two greatest sources of inspiration are called Simba and Leo . One is a discreet and observant cat, the other a playful and energetic dog. While they each won our hearts, their meeting… didn't exactly happen like a fairy tale!

And it is precisely this reality, with its ups and downs, that we want to share with you today.

🐱 Simba, the calm feline

Simba is a peaceful cat, attached to his routines and his well-defined territory. He loves peace and quiet, high places, cozy corners, and above all... tranquility. He has always lived in the house like a little prince, observing the world from his bed, desk, or window.

🐶 Leo, the explosion of energy

Leo arrived with the enthusiasm of a young dog. Curious, clumsy, affectionate, a little rough, he wants to discover everything—and quickly. For him, a new friend = a new opportunity to play. But he hasn't yet learned that not all friends necessarily want to play with such enthusiasm.

🐾 The day of the meeting

When Leo arrived home, Simba immediately realized something had changed. He smelled the dog, heard its noisy footsteps, and saw its excited movements.

Simba preferred to take refuge in the bedroom, away from this four-legged tornado. Leo, meanwhile, barked happily through the door. But Simba didn't move.

🚪 Two well-separated spaces

Since then, everyone has their own territory:

  • Simba stays in the room, with his cushions, his toys and his calm.
  • Leo lives in the living room, where he can run, play, and bark at the TV if necessary.

Sometimes they observe each other from a distance. Leo wants to play. Simba isn't ready to share his world yet.

And that's OK.

💛 A cohabitation, not a friendship… and that’s normal!

Not all animals automatically become best friends. Sometimes it takes time, patience, and sometimes even... we accept that they'll stay on their own. As long as they're respected, loved, and safe, that's what matters.

At PapattesBox, we know that every animal has its own personality. And that's why our boxes feature surprises for curious pets like Leo, as well as more discreet toys for quiet ones like Simba.

🐾 And at your place?

Are your cat and dog best friends? Or more like Leo and Simba—each in their own corner, with their own habits?

Tell us about your experience! You are not alone, and here, we celebrate all forms of cohabitation, even the most awkward.
